Oil Painting Workshops

I am launching a new series of oil painting lessons with a block-based format: Each block will run over three consecutive weeks, with the same model and same pose each week, at my studio in Stillingfleet.

The structure is designed to give students a chance to focus on each stage of the process, with the goal of completing a painting by the end of the block.

Week 1: Sketching, composition, and underpainting

Week 2: Values and colour correction using primaries

Week 3: Medium shapes and detail work

Cost: £110 for the full 3-week block

Includes: Life model, tuition, coffee, tea and materials (though you’re welcome to bring your own)

Life Drawing / Painting

Oil Painting

Participants observe and paint from live nude models, allowing them to study proportions, and light/shadow interactions in three dimensions.

Students learn and refine oil painting techniques covering aspects like blocking in shapes, color mixing (especially for skin tones), layering, and impasto techniques.

Thursdays 13 , 20 and 27 November (3 to 5 pm) .... or

Saturdays 15, 22 and 29 November (3 to 5 pm)
